She is also an Distinguished research professor at the Shanghai International Studies University, supported by a prestigious and much sought-after ‘Oriental Scholar' award from the Shanghai government. During her research fellowship for British Telecom's Innovation Center (EBTIC) in Abu Dhabi, UAE, Minjuan conducted Design-Based research of intelligent classrooms. She worked with Dr. Jun Xiao to develop the "Mobile Class" system and to conduct systematic evaluation and research.
Her other research and development specialties include: mobile learning, Cloud Learning (Moocs), and intelligent learning. She is a Chief Editor for one computer science journal (EAI Transactions on Future Intelligent Educational Environments), and also serves on editorial boards for four other Education Technology journals: Open Education Research, International Journal on E-Learning (IJEL), the Open Education Journal, and Journal of Information Technology Application in Education.
As a winner of several research awards, Minjuan is recognized as one of the high impact authors in blended and mobile learning. She has more than 80 peer-reviewed articles published in premier Educational journals, such as ETRD, IEEE Transactions on Education, Computers and Education, British Journal of Educational Technology, and Educational Technology and Society. She was a keynote and invited speaker to 14 international conferences.
Dr. Jun Xiao

In addition to being a faculty, Dr. Xiao was the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Shanghai Open University. He obtained his Ph.D of Educational Technology from East China Normal University. In 2010, he was a post-doctoral researcher at the Intelligent Learning and Robotics Lab, Department of Computer Science, San Diego State University, USA.
He currently serves on China's E-Learning Technology Standardization Committee.While being a CTO, he led many large-scale Research and Development projects,such as Shanghai Educational Resource Center, Shanghai Lifelong Learning Network, Shanghai Learning Network, and this Cloud-Based Intelligent Learning System. Jun Xiao has published more than 30 peer-reviewed articles in international and Chinese indexed journals and he is the author of 5 academic books. He has acquired several major awards for his work. In 2002, 2006, and 2010, he won top Prize from the Shanghai government in Science and Technology Development.
